Shilin Residence Main Hall – A Historic Home
The Shilin Residence Main Hall was originally built in 1949 as a guesthouse for foreign dignitaries by the Taiwan Provincial Government. The building, a two-story sloped-roof structure, combines wooden construction and reinforced concrete, providing a simple yet practical design. In 2006, restoration work began, and the project was completed by the end of November 2009.
Inside the residence, both the Main Hall where President Chiang Kai-shek and his wife lived, and the military barracks for staff and guards, are painted in dark green, blending seamlessly with the surrounding greenery. The design also serves a dual purpose, offering both camouflage and protection.
The small garden at the Main Hall invites visitors to enjoy the beauty of flowers, fish, and birds, creating an elegant atmosphere. The arrangement of the residence’s living spaces offers a glimpse into the everyday life of President Chiang’s family during that time.

Taipei 101 Observatory: Present the QR code directly at the 5F Observatory entrance for admission.
Shilin Residence Main Hall: Present the e-voucher (QR Code) at the entrance, where staff will verify and allow you to enter.
Please complete your booking at least one day before your visit. Same-day on-site booking is not available.

Force Majeure & Event Cancellations:
In the event of force majeure (including but not limited to natural disasters such as typhoons, earthquakes, heavy rain, etc.), or situations that may compromise visitor safety (as determined by the authorities), the organizer reserves the right to postpone or cancel the event. Any changes or cancellations will be announced in advance and affected guests will be contacted. The organizer also reserves the right to modify or terminate the event details.
Order Modifications & Cancellations
The system does not allow modifications to your order. If you wish to change the reservation date or ticket quantity, you must cancel the entire order and rebook. Please refer to the “Order Modification Instructions” in the shopping guidelines.
Once any ticket or product has been redeemed, cancellation, exchange, or refund will not be accepted.
Each ticket can be redeemed once only. After redemption, no refund or cancellation will be possible.
This product cannot be accumulated or offset with shopping credits.
