Release Your Own Sky Lantern – Pingxi Sky Lantern Experience
Sky lanterns are one of the most culturally significant traditions in northern Taiwan and have even been ranked by Discovery Channel as the "Second Largest Festival Carnival in the World". Every year on Lantern Festival night, thousands of visitors flock to Pingxi to participate in the event. The release of sky lanterns symbolizes the act of making wishes and praying for blessings.
While the Lantern Festival is the most popular time for this tradition, sky lanterns can be seen throughout the year, lighting up the skies of Pingxi. The origin of this custom dates back to the Qing Dynasty, when bandits caused turmoil in the Pingxi and Shifen areas. Villagers, seeking refuge in the mountains, would release sky lanterns at night to signal the all-clear, allowing people in the mountains to return home safely.
Four-Color Sky Lantern Experience
The Four-Color Sky Lantern Experience lets you personalize your lantern with your wishes and hopes for the future. You will select a lantern that resonates with you, and the staff will place it on a writing stand. You can then write your wishes on the lantern. During the process, you will have the chance to watch the Pingxi Line train pass by as you stroll along the street, with your lantern gently rising into the sky, carrying your heartfelt wishes for a fulfilling future.

How to Redeem
Redemption Method: Present the QR Code at the counter. After staff verification, you will receive your Four-Color Sky Lantern for the experience.
Important Notes
Check-in Time: Please arrive 10 minutes before the activity starts to check in at the designated counter.
No-shows or Cancellations: Once the voucher is redeemed, cancellations or absences are non-refundable.
Order Modifications: The system does not allow changes to your order. If you need to change the reservation date or quantity, please cancel the entire order and rebook.

After completing your booking, a “Booking Confirmation Email” will be sent to the email address you provided. The email will include QR codes for both attractions.
